HEAD OF SALES - ASIA

Destada Properties was launched in 2019 to bring established hospitality industry sales, marketing, distribution and revenue management expertise to the fast-growing short-term rental (vacation rental) market in Asia.


As the industry accelerates with increasing worldwide demand being channeled through a select number of global online travel agencies and numerous regional players it is hard for property owners to know where to focus energy; which channels can deliver to which destinations.

 

Destada is building a team of hospitality and travel industry professionals to bring this expertise and knowledge to markets throughout Asia.

 

 

HEAD OF SALES - ASIA

 

Based in Singapore and reporting to the CEO, the Head of Sales is a pivotal role in the company responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive exceptional growth in the region.  The Head of Sales will structure, build, develop and motivate a team of enthusiastic Sales and Account Management professionals to acquire and account manage property operators, professional property managers and individual property owners with a goal of demonstrating value to their businesses and investments.

 

Key Expectations of Role

  • Work with the CEO to create a streamlined and effective departmental structure that services the business needs and prepares for scale.

  • Develop regional and market level strategies to accelerate growth and increase property portfolio in line with business plan.

  • Build a regional team of junior and senior Field Sales individuals who will be managed remotely.

  • Build a team of Account Managers based in market.

  • Work with the Leadership team to determine sales and incentive plans.

  • Be responsible for the design and delivery professional sales collateral’ seeking assistance from Marketing and other departments as appropriate.

  • Create a departmental training and development program.

  • Outline data and reporting requirements and format accordingly.

  • Outline customer database requirements and work with leadership team to implement systems.

  • Determine the lead qualification and management process.

  • Embrace and support the company culture and create an environment of trust with strong and consistent communication across the team.  Engage the team with weekly meetings and monthly business updates whilst ensuring a strong feedback loop as the primary conduit to the company’s customers.

  • Represent the department at Quarterly Business Reviews with a transparent and diligent review of the previous quarter highlighting team success and areas of improvement.

  • Outline and deliver quarterly Key Progress Indicators to the department and ensure that the team are equipped to meet or exceed targets.

  • Be prepared to travel up to 50% of the time working with the Field Sales team and Field Account Managers.

  • Be a face of the company and a thought leader in the market supporting principle accounts, leading senior negotiations and being a point of escalation.

  • Build strong relationships with internal departments, some of which are in remote locations, identifying dependencies and establishing clear and effective working practices.

 

Profile

  • Customer focused, accountable, highly driven and enjoys pressure in a fast paced environment.

  • Happy to be involved in a start-up environment willing to be hands on from the outset.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated ability to negotiate.

  • Experience in a senior position either in Travel & Hospitality or Real Estate.  OTA experience on the supply side of the business would be considered valuable but not essential.  Experience in the vacation rental industry will be an advantage.

  • Experience of managing and growing a team of sales professionals, setting incentive plans and maintaining motivation.

  • Experience of launching and developing new markets.

  • Comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels and presenting when required.

  • Accomplished skills in Excel.

  • Pro-active with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

  • Fluency in second Asian language desirable.

HEAD OF REVENUE MANAGEMENT - ASIA

 

Based in Singapore and reporting to the COO, the Head of Revenue Management is a pivotal role in the company responsible for designing and executing market leading strategies to drive the performance of the property portfolio and improve the return on investment for property owners. 

 

Key Expectations of Role

  • Work with the COO to create a streamlined and effective org structure that services the business needs and prepares for scale.

  • Develop and outline strategies to optimise the distribution, occupancy and yield of regional short-term rental portfolios through 3rd party channels.  Consider global travel corridors, seasonality and lead time when defining the business mix.

  • Outline data requirements to build long term plans at destination level.  Design daily reporting.  Use data accordingly to drive growth.

  • Analyze property and market results and performance (average rate, occupancy, Rev PAR). Survey the market & competitors in terms of performance (occupancy, market penetration etc.), pricing & availability as a basis for future tactical decisions.

  • Design processes to monitor and validate property level forecasts to ensure forecast accuracy is met and ensure team executes daily review of the portfolio data before applying dynamic changes.

  • Ensure that a revenue management culture based on data is driven throughout the team.  Organise and lead weekly revenue meetings & monthly business reviews with the leadership team.

  • Recruit the remote Revenue Management team and design training programs to increase skill and knowledge at an accelerated rate.  Structure team accordingly.

  • Liaise with the Sales and Account Management team who own the relationship with property developers, managers and owners.  Ensure that the market, portfolio or property level strategy is shared as appropriate.

 

Profile

  • Experience at Manager or Director level within reservations and revenue management responsibility in a fast-paced market within the hotel industry.  Multi property experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Demonstrated experience at building, leading and developing a team of revenue professionals.

  • A proven track record in yield management and revenue forecasting.

  • Excellent communication skills and experience of managing stakeholders at all levels.

  • Customer focused, accountable, highly driven and enjoys pressure in a fast paced environment.

Based in Phuket and reporting to the Head of Sales, the Sales Manager is a critical role in the company responsible for building relationships with property owners and introducing them to the value that Destada brings.  Working across specified territories, the Sales Team is the face of the company with the objective of identifying commercial opportunities and selling the Destada value proposition.

 

Key Expectations of Role

 

  • Meet or exceed monthly property acquisition target.

  • Create and manage a customer pipeline in line with the quarterly business goals and prioritise to work as efficiently as possible.

  • Communicate ideas and information to potential new customers and adapt your style according to the specific situation and audience.

TEAM COORDINATOR

Team Coordinator

 

Based in Singapore and reporting to the CEO, the team coordinator is an important role in the company responsible for helping all members of this rapidly growing team accomplish their goals.

 

Key Expectations of Role

 

  • Work with the Leadership team taking control of all administrative requirements including but not limited to:

    • Recruitment – be the liaison between the business and potential candidates, organising interviews and keeping the lines of communication open.

    • Manage the posting of open roles on the Destada website and jobs boards.

    • Onboarding – ensuring that the business is prepared to welcome new members of staff by creating systems logins, ordering hardware and organising introductory meetings.

    • Expenses – supporting the leadership team with monthly expense management, managing expense pre-approvals and gathering and coordinating the approval of expenses for remote teams.

    • Travel – researching and booking flights and accommodation for the leadership team.

    • Coordinate the receipt of supplier invoices and earmark for payment.

    • Destada Website – assist the Marketing Manager in the update of content on the company website.

    • Coordination of company all staff meetings.

    • Taking minutes of meetings when required.

    • Assist in the creation of presentations and marketing collateral.

  • Take calls from customers, helping where possible and directing calls to the right members of staff.

  • Assist in the organisation and execution of small external and internal events identifying venues, managing catering, invitations and logistics.

  • Be prepared to assist other teams with operational duties including listing development, data gathering and processing when required.
